The Cultural Triangle โ Step Back Through 2,000 Years of Civilisation
Ancient ruins, UNESCO heritage sites, and sacred temples spanning over 2,000 years. Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle connects the three ancient royal capitals of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Kandy.

Sigiriya โ The Eighth Wonder of the World
Rising 200 metres from the jungle plain, Sigiriya is Sri Lanka's most iconic landmark. This 5th-century rock fortress โ built by King Kashyapa โ is reached by a staircase cut into the rock face, passing the famous frescoes of celestial maidens and the Lion Gate.

Anuradhapura โ Sri Lanka's First Royal Capital
Founded in the 4th century BC, Anuradhapura was one of the ancient world's most sophisticated cities. The sacred Bodhi Tree here โ grown from a cutting of the original tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment โ is the oldest historically documented tree on Earth (over 2,200 years old).

Kandy โ The Last Royal Capital
Nestled among misty hills, Kandy was the last stronghold of the Kandyan kings before British colonisation in 1815. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) houses Buddhism's most venerated relic and is the centrepiece of the spectacular Esala Perahera festival.
