Sigiriya โ€” The Eighth Wonder of the World

Rising 200 metres from the jungle plain, Sigiriya is Sri Lanka's most iconic landmark. This 5th-century rock fortress โ€” built by King Kashyapa โ€” is reached by a staircase cut into the rock face, passing the famous frescoes of celestial maidens and the Lion Gate.
