Negombo — The Garden of Fish
Just 7 km from the international airport, Negombo is many travellers' first taste of Sri Lanka. The Dutch-built lagoon system, the old fish market, St Mary's Church, and long sandy beaches backed by casuarina trees make it a surprisingly characterful town.

Kalpitiya — Kite Surfing & Dolphin Country
