What happens on a tea factory tour?
A working factory follows the leaf from the moment it arrives. You walk the same sequence in order, usually with the machinery running, and the smell changes at every stage: green and grassy at withering, sharp and malty by oxidation.

Mist and light rain are normal at this altitude and honestly make the estates more atmospheric. Bring a warm layer; nights fall to around 10°C and hotels here rarely have heating.
